Q & A with Durant’s Zachary Ervin Presented by 49th Street Veterinary Clinic

VYPE: Who has been your favorite coach throughout your career and how did they
impact you as a player?
Zachary Ervin: My favorite coach is Coach Reynolds. She always encourages me to be
better because she knows I can.


VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
ZE: To always keep pushing myself even when it gets hard.


VYPE: What has been your favorite memory in your sport?
ZE: Probably when we go out to eat and get to talk with my friends after meets.


VYPE: What preparation have you taken this off-season to better equip yourself for
the upcoming season?
ZE: I like to run with my mom and my dad at the track here in Durant. They help me do
drills and stuff to keep in shape when I’m not in a sport.


VYPE: What do you hope to accomplish this season (individual or team goals)?
ZE: Individual goal is to run under nineteen minutes in the 5k and team goal is to qualify
for the state meet.


VYPE: What matchup are you most looking forward to this season?
ZE: Regionals cross country meet.


VYPE: What are your plans after high school?
ZE: Right now, I want to play basketball in college.


VYPE: Did you have any teammates that you admire or that supported you?
ZE: Aiden Sager; I look up to him because I want to try to be as fast as him one day.


VYPE: Who was your favorite teacher and how were they influential in your life?
ZE: Coach Reynolds is my favorite teacher. she influences my life by teaching me that I can
do the things I think I can’t if really put my mind to it.
