A dynamic sophomore at Durant High School, Jayda Fouse contributes her skills to the cheerleading squad, where she serves as a back spot during stunts.
Reflecting on her sources of motivation, Jayda acknowledges her classmates. “My close peers around me motivate me to be hardworking.” She also draws inspiration from her mother, Tabbitha Fouse, describing her as “the strongest person I know” and highlighting her unwavering drive in pursuing Jayda’s passions.
In her academic journey, Jayda attributes her growth to Mrs. Lou Ann Lively. “The teacher that has had the biggest impact on my life is Mrs. Lou Ann Lively. She has helped me.” Jayda’s commitment to excellence extends beyond the cheerleading mat, as she actively contributes to her school community, holding positions such as secretary of the sophomore class in the student council, participating in HOSA and engaging with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
Jayda’s achievements include earning a spot on the varsity squad as a sophomore, a testament to her diligence and skill. When reflecting on her cheerleading highlights, she recalls this moment: “When I made varsity going into sophomore year.” Her dedication to excellence and her multifaceted involvement in school activities showcase her commitment to personal and collective success.
Among the rivalries, McAlester is one Jayda enjoys the most. “McAlester is my favorite to beat; they are one of our biggest rivals,” she said.
Looking ahead, Jayda aspires to attend nursing school at the University of Oklahoma, driven by her desire to make a positive impact on others’ lives. Embracing her role as a positive influence in her community, Jayda emphasizes the importance of strong involvement with those closest to her: “It means a lot to me to be a positive role model for my community.”
