Some athletes are driven by pure talent, but for Wade McAll, it’s his relentless competitive nature that keeps him striving for more. “My competitive nature and wanting to be the best version of myself motivates me to work,” he said. As a junior at Atoka High School, McAll competes in both football and track, balancing his time between the linebacker and tight end positions on the football field and excelling in the 400-meter dash and long jump in track. No matter the sport, his goal remains the same—constant improvement.

McAll comes from a family that has played a major role in his athletic journey. “My brothers influence me because they want what is best for me,” he said. Their guidance, along with his own internal drive, has shaped him into the athlete he is today. But beyond family, one mentor has stood out in his life—Coach Wingo. “The most influential teacher I’ve had has to be Coach Wingo. He not only takes his sports seriously but also his teaching. He has also always been there for me since even before I could remember. He only wants what is best for his students and athletes,” McAll said, emphasizing the impact of having a coach who genuinely cares.

The journey to success hasn’t come easy. McAll recalls a defining moment that tested his determination—the summer of 2023. “I’ve had lots of highlights throughout my career, but nothing can compare to the intensity of the summer of ’23. I worked my butt off because I knew I had a spot to fill. What pushed me to keep working was the amount of people depending on me,” he shared. That mindset of hard work and accountability has carried over into every aspect of his life, whether in sports, academics, or leadership roles.

McAll is highly involved in his school community, participating in FCA, student council, and Cats for Christ. Looking ahead, he has clear aspirations. “I plan on playing college football and majoring in kinesiology,” he said. With his dedication, competitive spirit, and strong support system, there’s no doubt that Wade McAll is poised for success in whatever he pursues next.
