2025 Antlers Bearcats Football Preview – Presented by McCurtain County National Bank

ANTLERS BEARCATS

Coach: KENON WHITE

4-6

OFFENSE

A new era is underway in Antlers as Kenon White enters his first season leading the Bearcats. With a brand-new coaching staff in place, the focus is on development and laying the foundation for long-term success. “This season will be a growing year. With an all-new coaching staff, it will take some time for our players to adjust. We have some really good athletes with a lot of potential. I look forward to seeing how they grow as a team,” said White.

The Bearcats will operate out of an empty set spread offense, designed to take advantage of the athleticism across the field. Senior quarterback Aden Wheat (6-4, 195, Sr.) will be the centerpiece of the offense, backed by junior running back Zeck Austin (5-11, 175, Jr.). In the receiving corps, look for production from senior Zane Rinehart (5-6, 150, Sr.) and junior Gavin Brown (5-10, 165, Jr.).

The offensive line will be a key unit for Antlers, anchored by junior Preston Cannon (6-5, 320, Jr.), a player gaining serious recruiting interest. “Preston has really bought in to what our new coaching staff has brought to him. He is a special kind of player in SE Oklahoma,” said White. Veteran center Payne McCarter (5-11, 270, Sr.) will also provide leadership up front.

DEFENSE

On defense, the Bearcats will line up in a 4-3 base with an aggressive, fast-paced approach. “Play hard. Play fast,” said White, summarizing the program’s defensive mentality.

Senior linebacker Chase Masters (6-0, 195, Sr.) headlines a strong linebacker unit that includes Keaton Barrick (6-0, 185, Jr.), Bryn Copeland (6-3, 180, Sr.), and Jeffery Jones (6-0, 195, Jr.). Up front, Buck Green (6-0, 260, Sr.) and Cayd Sorrells (6-0, 210, Sr.) will lead the charge on the defensive line.

With a new staff and new energy, Antlers is aiming to turn the corner in 2025. Their schedule kicks off August 29 against Pocola and includes key matchups with Valliant, Wilburton, and district rivals Atoka and Spiro.
