ATOKA WAMPUS CATS CHEER

Coach: SHAWNTÉ WASHINGTON

The Atoka Wampus Cats cheer team is ready to bring energy, excitement, and spirit to the 2025-2026 school year. With a large roster and a mix of talented returners and rising stars, head coach Shawnté Washington is excited about the potential of this group. “Such a fun group of girls,” Washington said. “This team has so much potential and are driven and full of school spirit. We have a large team this year and are excited about game day competition and cheering on our Atoka Wampus Cats!”

Washington emphasizes that the team’s size and energy make them a force on the sidelines and in competition. With their enthusiasm and drive, the Wampus Cats cheerleaders are focused on raising school spirit and supporting their teams every step of the way.

Leadership is a crucial piece of Atoka’s cheer culture and Jasmine Arcos, embodies that role. Washington highlighted her importance to the squad: “Jasmine is a leader in more ways than one. She is talented and pushes her teammates to be their best. She is a quick learner and overall great athlete. She is sure to catch your attention!”

The program also has its eyes on the future with standout Lizzie Powell. “Lizzie is a talented athlete active in cheer, band, softball, basketball and soccer. She has really upped her game in cheer this year and is sure to shine on the sidelines,” Washington said.

One underclassman already making her mark is Ali Sliger. “Ali is full of school spirit and a standout on the sidelines. She is only active in cheer, and she shows her dedication to the team,” Washington noted. Her commitment shows the kind of heart that sets this team apart.

Character is just as important as athletic ability, and for Atoka, Teagan Boroski stands out. “Teagan has an amazing personality and able to get along with everyone. She shows character both on and off the court/field,” Washington said.

With spirit leaders like Jasmine, rising talent like Lizzie, dedicated underclassmen like Ali, and character-driven athletes like Teagan, the Atoka Wampus Cats cheer team is set for an exciting season. Backed by Washington’s leadership and the squad’s determination, this year promises to be one of the most spirited yet.
