2025 Atoka Cheer – Presented by Atoka Vet Clinic

Some teams have talent. Some have energy. The Atoka High School cheer team has both—plus a deep love for their school, their sport, and each other. Head coach Shawnté Washington is entering the season with one of the largest teams she’s ever led, and she couldn’t be more excited about what this group brings to the table.

“These girls are such a fun group,” Washington said. “This team has so much potential, are driven and full of school spirit. We have a large team this year and are excited about game day competition and cheering on our Atoka Wampus Cats!”

Atoka’s squad isn’t just big—it’s deep with talent and leadership. One of the most respected voices on the team belongs to Jasmine Arcos, a returning veteran.

“Jasmine is a leader in more ways than one,” Washington said. “She is talented and pushes her teammates to be their best. She is a quick learner and overall great athlete. She is sure to catch your attention!”

Leadership comes in many forms, and sometimes it shines through quiet dedication. Sophomore Ali Sliger has caught her coach’s attention with her consistent energy and commitment.

“Ali is full of school spirit and a standout on the sidelines,” said Washington. “She is only active in cheer, and she shows her dedication to the team.”

Freshman Lizzie Powell is another athlete coach Washington expects to make a big splash. Though she juggles multiple sports and activities, Powell has poured more energy into cheer this year—and it shows.

“Lizzie is a talented athlete active in cheer, band, softball, basketball and soccer,” Washington said. “She has really upped her game in cheer this year and is sure to shine on the sidelines.”

Equally important to coach Washington is character, and senior Teagan Boroski is a perfect example of that.

“Teagan has an amazing personality and able to get along with everyone,” Washington said. “She shows character both on and off the court and field.”

Even outside of cheer, the team finds time to lead in other areas—like Mollie Burleson, who balances both cheer and FFA with passion.

“Mollie is so dedicated,” Washington said. “She is an active member in both cheer and FFA and is very passionate about both.”

With a large and tightly bonded roster, a strong mix of experience and young energy, and a coach who believes in their potential, Atoka cheer is building something special.
