ATOKA LADY WAMPUS CATS
COACH: Garland Parks
Record: 15-14
OUTLOOK
As head coach Garland Parks enters his first season at the helm of the Atoka Lady Wampus Cats, he brings a renewed emphasis on development, discipline, and teamwork. With only two starters returning, Parks knows this season will be about growth and building a strong foundation for the future. “With two starters returning, we’ll lean on their experience while developing younger players,” said Parks. “Our focus will be on the fundamentals, effort, and a team-first mentality as we work to compete every night.”
That veteran experience will come from juniors Maranda Brower (5-10, Jr.) and Jordan Hill (5-10, Jr.), who are expected to lead the charge both on and off the court. Their leadership will be vital as Atoka integrates several new contributors into the rotation.
Adding to that mix are fellow juniors Haidyn Campbell (5-10, Jr.), Hadli Campbell (5-10, Jr.), Samara Shields (5-10, Jr.), and Alison Williams (5-11, Jr.), all of whom bring size and versatility to the lineup. Their ability to rebound, defend, and stretch the floor will play a crucial role in Atoka’s ability to compete each night.
The Lady Cats also boast a strong group of underclassmen who will be counted on to step up quickly. Sophomore Chaini Hunt-Ginden (5-11, So.) provides length and athleticism in the post, while freshmen Chloe Hill (5-10, Fr.), Alyssiah Camp (5-2, Fr.), and Alivia Stanley (5-7, Fr.) offer promising talent and energy that point toward a bright future.
Parks’ emphasis on “fundamentals” and “effort” will define how this team approaches each challenge on the schedule. Though relatively young, the Lady Wampus Cats are built around a mindset of resilience and collective growth — qualities that Parks believes will translate into long-term success. They will focus on doing the little things right, playing with intensity, communicating, and trusting each other.
With size across the board, a dedicated core of returning players, and a coach committed to building from the ground up, the Lady Wampus Cats enter the 2025-26 season ready to compete and establish a new standard for Atoka basketball.
