CADDO
BRUINS

Coach: CHAD SPEER

10-2

Coming off a 10-2 season, Caddo enters the fall with a mix of proven production and new opportunity under first-year head coach Chad Speer. The Bruins may not return many full-time starters, but several athletes have seen meaningful snaps in past years, and they carried that experience into a strong spring and a summer marked by high participation and buy-in. With a challenging schedule ahead, Speer and his staff are embracing the slate as a chance for this group to establish its own identity while keeping the program-s winning expectations firmly in place.

Offensively, the Bruins plan to be multiple, willing to run or throw on any down and change tempo to force defenses to defend every inch of the field. Versatile playmaker Jake McKay (5-10, 145) returns after hauling in 42 receptions for 793 yards and 11 touchdowns, while also contributing as a runner, giving the Bruins a dynamic option at receiver and quarterback. In the backfield, Bayler Black (6-0, 175) brings power and consistency after posting 983 rushing yards and 19 scores on 107 carries, and he will run behind an offensive front anchored by Jase Counce (5-10, 190), a physical presence who helps set the tone in the trenches.

On defense, Caddo will base out of a 3-2 look but stay multiple, emphasizing fundamentals and playing fast to disrupt opposing offenses. Black leads the unit from linebacker after racking up 153 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and an interception, giving the Bruins a reliable stopper in the middle. Up front, Counce returns as a disruptive defensive lineman with 123 tackles, 27 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles, while McKay patrols the secondary, coming off a 143-tackle, 13-tackle-for-loss, six-interception season that underscores his impact on the back end. The staff also points to emerging underclassmen who will add depth and energy as they step into larger roles.
