A major influence in Cruz’s journey has been her teammate and mentor, Audrey. Known for her skill as a base, Audrey has set a standard that Cruz aspires to reach. Watching her perform and lead has fueled Cruz’s desire to elevate her own abilities and contribute at a higher level. That same drive extends beyond the mat, shaped in part by the impact of her former teacher, Ms. Davis from Durant Middle School, who helped lay a foundation of discipline and confidence that Cruz still carries today.

While she takes pride in how far she has come, she remains focused on refining her technique and continuing to grow as an athlete. She also recognizes the contributions of teammates like Keagan, whose hard work and humor often go unnoticed but play an important role in the team’s chemistry. Outside of cheer, Cruz has goals of becoming more involved at school and pursuing cosmetology, inspired by her interest in hairstyling.
