OUTLOOK
The Tushka Tigers are entering the 2025-26 season with renewed energy and confidence under head coach Chris Zike, who is eager to see what his group can accomplish after gaining valuable experience a year ago. “Very excited about this year’s team,” Zike said. “Last season was young and inexperienced. This year brings a lot coming back and adds two players back—one played four games last year due to injury and another did not play. Do not have much size, so we will play fast with a lot of depth.”
Leading the Tigers is Cleat Zike (6-1, So.), who burst onto the scene as a freshman averaging 15.6 points, 2.2 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 46% from three-point range and 86% from the free-throw line. “Expect bigger things this year after a productive freshman campaign,” said coach Zike. “He is also a 4.0 student and very active in church.”
Senior guard Kason Hull (5-10, Sr.) returns after averaging **11.5 points and 1.5 assists, providing veteran leadership and scoring punch. In the frontcourt, Tucker Willis (6-2, Sr.) adds strength and rebounding, posting 5.4 points and 5 rebounds per game last season. Waylon George (6-0, So.) and Colton Madden (5-10, Sr.) both contribute on the glass and bring hustle to the defensive end.
The Tigers’ backcourt depth continues with Jaxson Gregory (5-10, Sr.), who averaged 6.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. Zike spoke highly of Gregory’s leadership and integrity both on and off the court. “Jaxson is gifted in many areas of life such as athletics and academics, but what always shines brightest is this kid’s character,” Zike said. “When I was hired by Tushka Public School six years ago, I was told the kids are just different here—they have heart, they hustle, and they won’t quit on you. Jaxson is definitely a representation of what a true Tushka kid looks and acts like. I can always count on his high character to be present and shining.”
Additional contributors include Eli Self (6-1, Sr.), Luke Howard (5-10, Sr.), Grady Howard (5-10, So.), DJ Alberda (5’11”, Jr.), and Kason Duvall (5-10, So.), each adding depth and athleticism to the Tigers’ rotation.
With experience, depth, and a fast-paced style of play, coach Zike’s squad looks poised to make major strides this season.
