Antler’s Ely Dollins – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by McCurtain County National Bank

VYPE: Who inspires you? Explain.

Ely Dollins: My mom and stepdad. They have taught me how to work hard, never give up, and to set my mind to the things I want to do and accomplish.


VYPE: What grade are you in this year?

ED: I am in 10th grade.


VYPE: Favorite subject in school and favorite teacher from any grade?

ED: My favorite subject is math, and my favorite teacher was my ninth-grade woodshop teacher, Mr. John Tucker.



VYPE: What is your favorite club in your bag? Why?

ED: 6°, because I’m very accurate with it.



VYPE: What do you enjoy most about being a member of the team?

ED: What I enjoy most is hanging out with my team and being able to uplift people when they are having a bad round.



VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

ED: I like to golf, duck hunt, deer hunt, and fish.



VYPE: Do you have a favorite course to play? Why?

ED: Arrowhead State Park golf course. It is very nice with a good layout.



VYPE: What has athletics taught you that you may use later in life?

ED: It has taught me to not give up and to be the best, even if you continue to fail.



VYPE: What is the lowest round you’ve ever shot, in competition or for fun? Explain.

ED: The lowest round was 82. It was on Atoka Trails golf course in the tournament.



VYPE: Who is your favorite golfer? Why?

ED: Bryson DeChambeau, because he’s funny. He puts on a good show, and he’s extremely good at the game.



VYPE: What area of your game have you worked on the most to improve?

ED: My irons and my driver.
