Coalgate Lady Wildcats Basketball Team – Presented by SafeGuard Insurance Solutions

COALGATE WILDCATS

GIRLS

Coach: NATASHA HALEY

23-24 Record: 5-21

The Coalgate Wildcats, led by coach Natasha Haley, are a team primed for growth and determined to build on last year’s experience. This young roster is packed with promising talent and players dedicated to hard work.

At the forefront is Destiny Grant (Jr., SG/SF), a player who embodies the competitive spirit of the Wildcats. Coach Haley describes her as a player who “leaves it all on the floor” and is incredibly hard on herself, striving to dominate on both ends of the court. Destiny has grown tremendously over the past two years, both mentally and physically, making her a formidable presence and a leader by example for the younger athletes.

Supporting Destiny are seniors Jocelynne Lambert (Sr., SG/PG), Alison Wolfenbarger (Sr., SG/PG), and Nicole Griffin (Sr., SG/SF). Lambert is known for her strategic play and court vision, and she is a reliable asset in high-pressure situations. Wolfenbarger’s consistency and leadership are invaluable, while Griffin, a recent transfer, has impressed the team with her initiative and strong shooting ability. “Nicole works hard and does anything and everything I ask of her,” Haley notes.

Among the promising younger players, Natalie Delozier (Fr., SG) stands out as the team’s future star. Coach Haley praises her work ethic and high standards. “She does not accept mediocrity. She will work until she gets it right,” Haley said. Additionally, Taytum Nelson (Fr., SG/SF) is noted as an underclassman to watch. She has made a smooth transition from junior high, impressing the team with her off-season work ethic and readiness for high school competition. Nelson is expected to make a big impact on the court as she gains more experience.

Sophomore Gracie Haley (So., SG) brings a unique story to the team. Gracie rediscovered her love for basketball after moving to Coalgate in eighth grade, and her renewed enthusiasm and drive have helped her become an invaluable asset to the Wildcats. Coach Haley notes, “She is gradually gaining her confidence and works hard on developing her skill. She will be a big asset to our program the next few years.”

The Wildcats also have Abigail Fuller (Fr., SG), recognized for her outstanding character and dedication. Abigail’s positive attitude and genuine love for the game have made her a favorite among teammates and coaches alike. “She is always offering a helping hand. Having her around makes our team better. She has a love for the game and an even bigger love for people.”
