2026 Madill Wildcats Football Preview – Presented by Woody Ford

MADILL WILDCATS

Coach: WADE COUCH

0-10

Madill moves into Class 3A in 2026 with a fresh sense of optimism after a winless 2025, embracing the challenge of a tougher, tradition‑rich schedule as a chance to grow. Head coach Wade Couch says they are “very excited about the upcoming season” and “excited about competing against tradition rich opponents,” with clear hopes of improving on what they started last year. With eight offensive and eight defensive starters returning, the Wildcats believe experience and continuity will translate into better execution and more competitive Friday nights.

Offensively, Madill will operate from a spread formation aimed at getting multiple athletes involved and stressing defenses horizontally. Couch states plainly, “Our base offensive formation and philosophy is a spread offense,” signaling a commitment to space, tempo and balance. Senior receivers Ryan Anderson (6-2, 180) and Alex Garcia (6-0, 165), junior tight end Kevin Garcia (6-1, 205) and sophomore running back Rodrigo Cruces (6-0, 170) headline a skill group that is still building its statistical résumé but now has a full year of varsity experience. A stronger offensive line led by Dagoberto Gonzalez (5-9, 235) gives the Wildcats a more stable foundation than a year ago.

Defensively, Madill will line up in a 3‑4 with a focus on toughness and improvement at all three levels. The staff notes, “Our defensive philosophy and formation is a 3-4,” which matches their personnel and puts multiple experienced linebackers on the field. Senior defensive end Brylon Gibson (6-2, 180), sophomore lineman Abram Osornio (5-9, 240) and sophomore standout Cruces at linebacker anchor a front seven that gained valuable reps in 2025. In the secondary, Alex Garcia and Anderson provide experience and length, while overall defensive success will hinge on better tackling and leveraging the added size and strength gained in the offseason.
